A 10th minute Sadio Mane penalty and a 30th minute Kara Mbodji goal secured 3 points for the Teranga Lions in their Group B opener against Tunisia today. After Algeria and Zimbabwe had drawn in the opening match of the group and draws in the first two matches of group A makes Senegal the first team to win its match soo far in this tournament.
Mane scored from the spot before delivering a corner from which Kara Mbodji netted. The Tunisians posed lots of threat to the Teranga Lions, but lack of fire power infront of goal didn’t help much as they squandered lots of chances.
Now Tunisia will have to fight hard as they meet inform Algeria in the next few days as Senegal faces Zimbabwe as well. Senegal had 100percent record in qualifying for the finals and are the highest African team in FIFA’s World rankings.
