South Africa’s midfield did a superb job of finding space for each other around the big Senegalese defenders and it was the craft of Vilakazi that was most eye-catching.
His trickery on the ball, intelligent running and eye for the pass left the Senegalese defenders clutching thin air at times.
He combined superbly with Tokelo Rantie and Thuso Phala, and while he blasted over twice with good scoring chances, that had more to do with the pitch than a lack of quality from him.
He also never stopped working despite the sapping heat. Europe surely beckons for this star man.
