Mame Biram Diouf’s lively display for Senegal was instrumental in their opening win at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, beating Ghana 2-1 on Monday.
The Stoke City striker scored one and provided the killer pass which resulted in the match winner at the death.
In the first half after Ghana had taken the lead, Diouf was a constant threat to the Black Stars defenders but was not successful.
He delivered a superb bicycle-kick inside the box which drew an excellent save from goalkeeper Razak Brimah. Had that gone in, it would have been a goal of the tournament contender.
Diouf was closely checked, but never gave up and his perseverance finally paid off in the 58th minute when he turned in a rebound from the side post for the leveller.
Before that he missed a glorious chance after being put through clear on goal.
With seconds to the end of the match, the former Manchester United recruit picked up Moussa Sow inside the box to smash home the winner.
