Man of the Match: Ibrahima Traore

Guinea’s French born left winger Ibrahima Traore is continuing to improve his status on the international scene and was full value for his man of the match against Ivory Coast.

The 26-year-old, who played a key role for Guinea in the qualifiers, kept Ivory Coast’s defence on their toes all night and was unfortunate not to score a goal in their opening Group D match of the 2015 Afcon finals.

Despite the fact that the match ended 1-1, Traore was the most penetrative attacking player on the field and was rewarded when his cross resulted in Mohammed Yattara putting his team o=into a first half lead.

Even when the score was levelled in the second half, Traore did not give up and his last contribution came inside the final ten minutes where his driven effort flew wide.
