The Gabonese goalkeeper Didier Ovono was outstanding in Gabon’s surprise 2-0 victory over Burkina Faso, runners up in the Africa Nations Cup 2013 edition.
Ovono saved from Jonathan Pitroipa in the 36th minute and he stopped Bertrand Troare’s low shot in the 64th minute, just two highlights of a night that belonged to him.
Obverall, the big goalkeeper made six saves in the match and several of them should have been goals for Burkina Faso who had got into good scoring positions only to find the keeper in top form.
Ovono, 31, plays his club football for Belgium club KV Oostende and has over 60 caps for his country. He has also played club football in France and Georgia.
