The veteran trainer has joined the Kotoko technical bench as adviser to the acting coach Michael Osei to help him execute the Kotoko job.
Michael Osei took over from his boss David Duncan, when he was asked to step aside by the manangement of the club after a poor start to the season: Osei turned the fortunes of the club around by guiding them from the drop zone to the 2nd place, following the end of the first round.
But, Asante Kotoko are struggling to get wins in the second round of the league, having won just 1 in 7 games, (D4, L2) and blew away two different opportunities to go top of the league ladder.
The management team of the Porcupine upon several considerations took a decision to bring on board Malik Jabir to work hand in hand with Michael Osei as the technical director of the club.
Technical Manager of Asante Kotoko, Malik Jabir, who was with the team last week at the Adako Jachie training grounds told the playing body that there should be no room for any more errors, if only they want to be league champions this season.
“Your coach and assistant are here because they have technical know-how to guide you. Take their criticisms in good faith. Don’t feel bad about them or take them personally. He is your coach. Hhe has the right to criticise you.
“Those of you who played against Edubiase know the mistakes you committed. You must be sincere with yourselves and accept those mistakes and work towards them,” he told Kotoko Express, the official mouthpiece of the club.
