The black stars of Ghana will need to bounce back from their painful defeat suffered from the cranes of Uganda last Saturday.
The stars will face off with the hawks of Togo and will need a convincing win so as to be able to erase any doubts on the team’s ability to go on in winning the AFCON in Equatorial Guinea come next year.
The stars against the cranes of Uganda did not look convincing, they were sluggish in their play for much of the games duration. The midfield lack combativeness and were rattled often by the cranes midfielders and the attack of the stars lack prolificacy.
Majeed Waris was isolated in most part of the game due to the fact that he was played as a lone striker upfront and the introduction of David Ackam brought him back into the game which was a bit late for any turnaround.
Solomon Asante for me was our bright spot in attack when he joined the fray; his trickery and pace was just awesome and caused problems for the cranes defense.
The stars will have to play above themselves to beat the hawks of toga on Wednesday. The hawks are in for revenge and qualification as well and Emmanuel Adebayor inspired team will have a go at this. The stars must shine to avoid a defeat that will mean their inability to qualify for the AFCON tourney.
