Mahatma not surprised with late Black Stars call-up

Many were and still are surprised at his late and dramatic inclusion in the final 23
players for the 2015 African Cup of Nations, but striker, Mahatma Otoo,
says he never doubted for a minute that he could make the team.

Otoo who was not part of the initial 31-man provisional squad named
for the first phase of camping, but was later invited to train with
the team following the inability of most of the players (foreign
based) to make it to camp at the Lizzy Sports Complex in Accra.
He was again dropped from the list last Sunday when it was pruned to
26.
However, in a twist of fate, Otoo’s name was included in the final 23 named for
the tournament slated for Equatorial Guinea.

According to the fc Sogndal striker, it does not come as a surprise to him.
“I am not all that surprised because I never stopped believing that I
will get a chance with this AFCON squad. When I was invited to train
with the team I knew I had to do all I could to impress, because who
knows what might happen and thankfully, I have been selected”, Mahatma
told sportscrusader.com.

“I think this is a perfect chance to show Ghanaians what I can do at
the senior level and I look forward to the opportunity.”
