Roma are expecting Paris Saint-Germain defender Lucas Digne to arrive for a medical within 24 hours – ending Liverpool’s hopes of signing the left back.
Digne left the PSG camp and saluted his teammates on Friday and was in the stands for their Ligue 1 game against Lille, prompting media in Italy and France to suggest a medical is imminent and the transfer will be completed in the next couple of days.
It is widely reported the deal is a loan worth €1.5million plus an option to buy for a further €16.5million, taking the total potential value of the deal to €18million.
However, the option is not mandatory, so if Digne, who has already worked with Roma coach Rudi Garcia at Lille, fails to settle they can scrap the move.

Digne has been on Liverpool’s radar this summer and Brendan Rodgers was toying with the idea of a loan move for the highly-rated full back to provide competition for Alberto Moreno, but it is believed Digne favoured a move to Italy.
