Ghana Premier League side Liberty Professional have offloaded three players ahead of the 2015-2016 season after being deemed surplus to requirement.
The three players put on transfer are midfielder Aminu Ibrahim and strikers Mohammed Cissey and Akwei Polo.
Goal understands that Ibrahim and Polo failed to impress coach George Lamptey while Cissey was released on medical grounds. The striker has failed to recover from a knee injury suffered against Asante Kotoko.
The club is yet to officially sign new players after transferring defender Edwin Tuffour Frimpong and striker Kennedy Ashia to Kotoko and Al Hilal in Sudan respectively but reports indicate that new signings will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
“Some deals will be finalized soon as the club seek to strengthen the squad for the new season,” a source told Sports5050.
“The club’s top hierarchy has tasked the technical team to improve on last season’s performance and this will need strategic signings because some key players have left and they need to be replaced as soon as possible,” he added.
Liberty finished fifth last season with 43 points, nine points below winners Ashantigold.
