Ghana coach Avram Grant has named Portland Timbers goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey in his 23-man squad to take on Mozambique in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header next week.
The Norwegian-born makes a return to the Black Stars, having been absent since Ghana’s disastrous showing at the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.
In-form Anderlecht winger Frank Acheampong also makes a comeback to national team, as well as Sassuolo midfielder Alfred Duncan.
Las Palmas man Mubarak Wakaso is also on the list, although there have been concerns over his fitness, while captain Asamoah Gyan has overcome a recent injury setback to make the squad.
Fit-again Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has been left out, same as Andre Ayew, due to injury. Ashgold shot-stopper Fatau Dauda has also been ignored.
Ghana host Mozambique at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 24 before travelling for the return encounter three days later.
