Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) chairman elect, Kudjoe Fianoo has explained why he left the association about a decade ago.
Mr. Fianoo was the administrative manager of the J.Y Appiah led-administration between 2002-2006, but left to take over the Chief Executive Officer position at Ashanti Gold Sporting Club.
The former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Committee member, returned to the foe of GHALCA after almost a decade, and won the chairmanship post in last week’s elections.
In an interview with Pulse.com.gh on why he is returning, Mr. Fianoo said:
“I took a backseat from GHALCA for a couple of years because I had a project i was working. The project was to win the league for Ashanti Gold Sporting Club, and haven accomplished that mission, I now have the motivation to come back to GHALCA and help in rebuilding the association.”
Over the years, GHALCA have moved from its previous years and new innovations have been brought into the association. Questions have been raised over whether the association will ever get back to the glory it chalked in yesteryear.
But Kudjoe Fianoo insists he is the best man to steer the ship to the land of gold.
“Once a soldier is always a soldier. I helped in building GHALCA to a certain level and I have returned to a higher level. GHALCA is heading to the top and will never go backwards,” he stated.
Kudjoe Fianoo and his administration will be sworn into office on Thursday April 28.
