Ghana topflight Asante Kotoko will play an international friendly match against Greek side Veria FC on November 15 in Kumasi to mark the 80th anniversary of the Porcupine Warriors.
Zisis Vryzas, a former assistant Coach of Greece’s national team and technical director of Veria, is expected to lead the Greek delegation, which includes Andreas Ikimis and Konstantia Tziotaa, to Kumasi, according to Kotoko.
The encounter was initially scheduled for October 11 which officials of the club rectified as a wrong date.
The trophy and medals to be presented to participants have long been secured while more details of the event will be released at a press conference slated for this week, Sports5050 understands.
Founded in 1935, Kotoko are the most successful team in Ghana, with a record of 24 Ghana Premier League, eight FA Cup and two Caf Champions League titles.
They finished at sixth position in the 2014 / 15 season, failing to defend the title won back to back between 2011 and 2014.
