GHALCA the organisers of the annual President’s Cup has today announced that Accra Hearts of Oak will take on Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Wednesday in the 2015 President’s Cup.
At the launching of the competition, it was announced that both Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will be GHC 50,000 rich as an appearance fee. In addition to this the winners will take home a trophy, while the runners up get a silver trophy.
The competition has witnessed a lot of controversies in its short period of existence and although there was a delay in the naming of the two opponents, it is expected to be controversial free.
The Presidential Cup was instituted during the tenure of President’s John Agyekum Kuffour to honour every sitting president of Ghana on Republic Day and has since been an annual ritual with the exception of every FIFA World Cup year.
The Phobians are the defending champions, winning it in 2013.
