Asante Kotoko have announced the donation of Ghc2,000 ($500) to Jackson Owusu, who hurt his shin days before kick-off of the Ghana Premier League.
The midfielder was reported to be playing street football with friends during an off day when he sustained the injury that subsequently ruled him out of the entire campaign.
Kotoko General Manager Opoku Nti and his collaborators made the donation when they visited the player during the weekend.
The officials said the funds would allow Owusu take care of some immediate needs while undergoing recovery.
The player had a successful surgery and has been given eight months to fully recover his game form.
