Kotoko beat Hearts to land Liberty’sTuffuor Frimpong

Reports reaching Sports5050 indicate that Kotoko have beaten Hearts of Oak to the signature of Liberty Professionals’ versatile defender Edwin Tuffuor Frimpong.

The deal was completed this morning at Asante Kotoko secretariat in Kumasi as the 22 year old defender signed a three year deal with the Porcupine Warriors.

Last month, Tuffuor Frimpong confirmed he will be joining Hearts of Oak as the Phobians held talks with Liberty Professionals over his transfer.

“It is true I’m in talks with Hearts of Oak but I’m under contract with Liberty so if my club agrees with them then it becomes a done deal because I have verbally agreed personal terms with Hearts.”

However, Asante Kotoko swiftly hijacked the move and have officially landed Tuffuor Frimpong on a three year deal.

“I have signed for Kotoko, it is a three years, though previously I held talks with Hearts of Oak, Kotoko came in and expressed their interest in me which per their offer I accepted to join them and I feel very happy in signing for Kotoko.”

Due to the arrival of Tuffuor Frimpong, Kotoko have so far signed six players namely, Michael Yeboah, Halipha Sedogo, Samuel Kyere, Theophilus Nyame and Ernest Soawh.
