TV pundit Farouk Khan says that Mamelodi Sundowns look more stable than Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the Telkom Knockout Cup final on Wednesday in Durban.
“Well, I think if you look at their overall performance, there’s quite a few teams that have done well. I think we can’t exclude Wits, Aces and Platinum Stars. I think all those teams have done fairly well so we can’t say Chiefs and Sundowns are setting the bar higher,” Khan toldGoal .
“On the other side, I think if you look at Sundowns, they have had more of a team performance all-round. They have come to the party. I think players like Keagan Dolly have put their hand up as well as both (Bongani) Zungu and (Teko) Modise have.
“I think their camp is a bit more structured and stable. On the side of Chiefs, I am not yet convinced that this the Chiefs that can go all the way,” Khan outlined.
Having served as an assistant coach to Muhsin Ertugral at Chiefs in the past, Khan says that the Amakhosi lack fluidity in attack this season.
“However, I think Sundowns have had a good run, they are playing a good brand of football and are very consistent. On the other hand, Chiefs lack the transition where they are rebuilding to type of football that they played last season.
“So, I suppose that’s a factor that must be taken into account,” Khan said.
The two protagonist will contest the TKO final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on December 16.
