Outgoing Liberty Professionals attacking midfielder, Kennedy Ashia has confirmed that he has opened talks with Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko over a possible move.
The 21 year old midfield enforcer last Monday confirmed that he will be exiting the Dansoman based club after turning down contract extension as he wants to seek a new challenge elsewhere.
Kennedy Ashia spent three seasons at Liberty Professionals and he was one of their best players especially in the just ended Ghana premier league where the ‘Scientific Soccer Lads’ finished at the 5th position on the log sheet, their best position in 4 seasons.
The quality of Kennedy Ashia has caught the attention of several clubs in the Ghana premier league and his imminent departure has put the two biggest clubs in the country Hearts of Oak and Kotoko on red alert.
However, despite Ashia being linked with a move to several clubs, the former U-20 star has confirmed that he has opened up talks with Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
“Kotoko and Hearts have contacted me but my agent will sort things out,” Ashia told Solar FM.
He added: “There is always pressure at the bigger clubs [Kotoko and Hearts] because expectations are huge. Fans always demand better results and will not compromise when results are not well but I’m not afraid of any pressure.
“I’m adequately ready for the bigger challenges locally.”
Kennedy Ashia last season bagged in 11 goals for Liberty Professionals.
