Under-fire Hearts of Oak trainer Kenichi Yatsuhashi is determined to turn things around at Hearts of Oak in his first year at the club.
The Japanese-American trainer has enjoyed some good moments in the club’s pre-season friendlies following their impressive displays against Swedru Professionals, Ifeanyi Ubah, Inter Allies and Dreams FC.
Despite those positives results many have undermined the technical prowess of the 46 year-old trainer as they believe he can’t lead Hearts of Oak to the league title in his debut season but Kenichi has insisted he has what it takes to re-claim the club’s lost glory.
“I’m not thinking about the outside world and all their negative talks. My work is clearly defined and I’m focused on achieving just that to make my team credible and the fans happy and to justify the confidence reposed in me by the club heads. I’m desperate to turn things around” Yatsuhashi told the club’s News Paper.
“I always get asked the same questions. The fans don’t want words, though. All we can do is start winning games and I only want to focus on football,” he added.
Hearts of Oak struggled throughout the entire last season and finished a place clear of relegation.
