Kumasi Asante Kotoko left-back Eric Donkor has plauded journalists across the country for a wonderful coverage of the just ended 2014/2015 First Capital Plus Bank Premier League season.
The ‘Saviour’ as he was called by the media in the penultimate game of the season when he scored the only goal in added time to help Asante Kotoko secure all three points against Hasaacas, giving the Porcupine warriors vital points after the FA Disciplinary Committee punished them for fielding the ‘ineligible’ Jackson Owusu, says he is grateful to the media for making a good player.
But first, he thanked his creator for seeing him through a successful season, and prayed for his colleagues who got injured in the process of speedy recovery.
“First of all, I thank the Almighty God for an injury free this season and to every player who got injured. I pray God heal all of you before next season begins,” Eric Donkor wrote on his facebook wall.
“Secondly I thank every sports presenter at all media houses throughout the country for a wonderful and important role they played in the league this season, I received positive and negative comments about how I play and I must commend my brothers and sisters in the media that your criticisms has made me learn and improve my skills as a player.
“Thank you all once again; I didn’t know learning could be so much fun I loved your amazing presentation and to me your messages really hit their target.
“You are a true inspiration and I know you will continue to make impact on every player’s career.
“To the entire management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko I bow for you all because your motivation has landed me where I am today. Lastly to me team mates I say cheer up we can do better next season I love u all.thank you.”
