Ghana Football Association Technical Director, Oti Akenteng has stated that Aston Villa’s attacker Jordan Ayew will need time to settle in the English Premier League.
The Ghanaian international who joined Aston Villa from French Ligue 1 side FC Lorient this season is yet to make a name for himself in his new found club. The 23 year old attacker started two premiership games for his side and since then has been a bench warmer.
However, host of football pundits have raised questions about Jordan’s quality with respect to the nature of the English premier league and many are of the opinion that he doesn’t have the requisite quality to be a star man in the premiership.
But Ghana Football Association Technical Director, Oti Akenteng has called for patients for Jordan Ayew as he believes the former FC Lorient attacker will need time to rediscover his form.
“He [Jordan] needs time to blossom in England. He is the soft type and has the qualities of a good striker. He has not played that bad in the early days yet but only needs time to blossom.
“He needs time to learn how his new team mates play and get used to each other. With playing time he will make it in his new environment.
“He has to seize every single opportunity that comes his way since he might not get the opportunities forever. The coach might not be giving him the needed playing time forever so he must use all opportunities that come his way. With time and patience, Jordan will come good for Aston Villa”, said the veteran trainer.
