Ghana defender John Boye believes his latest injury is not serious ahead of his MRI scan on Tuesday to determine the extent of damage.
The 27-year-old suffered an unspecified injury while in action for his club Kayseri Erciyesspor in their 1-1 away draw at Sivasspor on Monday night.
Boye was replaced after 32 minutes to raise doubts of his fitness ahead of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
But the former Stade Rennes man believes his injury is not that serious as he undergoes an MRI scan later on Tuesday.
“The injury is not serious but I will go for an MRI test tomorrow [Tuesday],” Boye told MTNFootball.com.
The defender’s latest setback will be a major blow for Ghana if he is unable to make a quick recovery for the Nations Cup to be staged in Equatorial Guinea.
He missed most parts of the Nations Cup qualifiers through injury only to return in the final rounds.
His latest setback thus threatens to keep him away from the Black Stars ahead of next year’s tournament.
