There will be more Metz glory for either Jo-Wilfried Tsonga or Gilles Simon as the Frenchmen booked their place in the ATP Moselle Open final on Saturday.
The tournament has proved a happy hunting ground for Tsonga and Simon in the past with both players having won twice.
It has been three years since Tsonga last lifted the trophy, but the third seed will be confident having safely seen off Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-3 6-4.
Tsonga, who has yet to win an ATP title in 2015, did not give the fifth seed a sniff on serve as he fired down 13 aces, while the German failed to muster a single break point.
Simon also has plenty of reason to be confident and the second seed is still yet to drop a set this week after beating Martin Klizan 6-4 6-4.
Moreover, Simon has previous of beating Tsonga in the final at Metz having defeated his compatriot to win the title for the second time in 2013.
