Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach, David Duncan has said he needs to boost his current squad because some departments need beefing up.
“Kotoko are short in some departments and I will bring in players who won’t cost a thing but will be the envy of other teams,” he said in a post match press conference.
“When I assemble my own squad you will see how aggressive, intensive and how
freely my players will express themselves on the pitch.” he added.
Many coaches have a specific approach to all games no matter the opposition, but David Duncan says he is not such coach. My style of play will depend on the opponent.
“I don’t have a straight jacket, specific system; I rather deploy the tactics and system suitable for the game and opposition.”
Ahmed ‘Simba’ Toure struck in the first minute his fifth goal of the season against Liberty Professionals to hand Duncan his first home win as head coach since taking over this month.
It was Kotoko’s second consecutive win, and they now moved up the league table to 5th and six points behind leaders AshGold.
Asante Kotoko will now turn their attention to this weekend’s CAF Champions League second leg against MC Eulhma of Algeria.
