Former Ivory coast coach Herve Renard has revealed that Ghana striker Jordan Ayew wants to join him at Lille.
The 46-year-old coach ecently signed for French club on a three-year deal and reportedly made Jordan – the player he worked with at Sochaux – his number transfer target this Summer.
And now Renard – who led the Elephants to only their second Nations Cup title in Equatorial Guinea in February, beating Ghana on penalties, says that Jordan’s main wish this season is to leave Lorient and join him at Lille.
“I can confirm that Jordan [Ayew] wants to come me [at Lille], but he has a boss. It is he who decides,” Renard told le10sports.
“The only problem is that he may be a bit expensive, not to mention the competition of English clubs who will enter the race. It will be increasingly difficult.”
Latest reports rifing in the English media suggest that Jordan Ayew could follow his big brother, Andre, to English football after he was linked with a move to Merseyside, with both Everton and Liverpool reportedly interested in his services.
