Hearts of Oak board of directors have issued a warning to new manager Kenichi Yastuhashi to win the inaugural version of the Ghana League Club Association tournament, G6, to save his job.
The 46-year-old replaced Herbert Addo in a four-year deal after several failed efforts to sign Medeama SC coach Tom Strand.
Hearts have lost all their three preseason friendlies to WAFA (4-1) and Libyan giants Al Ahli Tripoli (3-0 and 2-0) in two-legged international club tournament.
“Kenichi Yastuhashi is likely to be shown the exit if he fails to win the G6 tournament,” a source told Goal.
“The pressure from the club’s supporters to management and board is too much that he may be used as the sacrificial lamb if he fails.
“Some of the board members are even not happy with some of his utterances in the media. Typically, when he said he doesn’t fear the supporters, adding that what he has suffered in the past is greater than in Ghana,” the source added.
Hearts have been handed a tough group in the G6, with Medeama and Aduana Stars while Asante Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea and Ashantigold make up the other group.
