Accra Hearts of Oak has added Black Stars goalkeepers trainer, Nasam Yakubu to their reconstituted technical team after the Phobians signed Nasam on a two year deal on Thursday afternoon.
Hearts unveiled their new head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi on Wednesday after the Japanese-American coach was unanimously approved by the board of the club to chart a new path with the Rainbow club having faced a terrible campaign last season.
The club had earlier announced the appointment of former national star and current assistant coach of the U-20 male team, Yaw Preko as the new assistant coach of the club before Yatsuhashi arrived in Ghana.
Nasam Yakubu now joins Hearts from Medeama SC after a six year stint with the Tarkwa based.
Hearts’ failure to land Medeama’s head coach, Tom Strand did not deter them from pursuing their interest in securing Nasam, whose competence is not in his CAF License A certificate but his expanse experience in national team coaching from 2008 till now running through both male and female teams except the U-20 and Olympic male teams, the Black Satellites and Black Meteors.
Nasam has been with the Black Stars as goalkeepers coach since 2012.
