The management of Accra Hearts of Oak led by Gerald Ankrah has rubbished viral media reports indicating that the club has placed 15 players on transfer.
A section of the Ghanaian media has in recent times reported that the club’s management in consultation with the technical team and with support from the Board of Directors has placed the 15 players on transfer to make way for new recruits.
According to the club’s management the recent media reports have created panic amongst some Hearts of Oak players and the management of the club want to remind all players of the club and the general public that no such decision has been taken and has therefore appealed to all to disregard the report and treat it with all the contempt it deserves.
However, according to Hearts’ management, per the directives from the Ghana Football Association[GFA], all Premier League clubs have been mandated not to register more than thirty players for next football season and the club is ready to abide by those directives.
“It’s unfortunate that such reports are circulating in the media about our team. Management has not yet taken any decision on which players will fall out to meet the GFA requirements so it has really come as a surprise to us why such reports will be attributed to us.
“As our tradition demands, the Technical team will have to submit their report for the entire season and if we have the areas to strengthen we will go ahead to do that before others who we think are surplus to requirement would be off loaded before the new season gets underway. Until we do that we will plead with our players and the general public to disregard those transfer reports making round in the media,” the club’s management led by Gerald Ankrah told the club’s News Paper [Hearts News].
