The general manager of Hearts of Oak, Gerald Ankrah, claims the club has no knowledge of the existence of a group by the name ‘Concerned Hearts Oak of Supporters’.
A section of local fans by the said name held a press conference on Tuesday, calling for the current management to sit up or relinquish its position over poor performance of the club in recent times.
According to the group, the incumbent board must be overhauled for an immediate return to traditional management structures.
“It lies within their democratic rights to say whatever they [Concerned Hearts of Oak Supporters] feel like saying but there are recognised organs that the club deals with,” Ankrah told Sikka FM.
“Anyone with issues can channel grievances through any of those organs in order to get to the board for redress.
“Unfortunately, we don’t know about this group but I have been informed that other Chapter members belong to it.
“If that is the case, it means there might have been a break in communication from management level to the ordinary supporter.
“It is something we will seriously attended to.”
Hearts held an Annual General Meeting on Wednesday at the Accra International Conference Centre, with issues of the club’s recent poor performance high on agenda.
The club finished just a spot above the relegation zone in the 2014-15 Ghana Premier League season.
