Accra Hearts of Oak have sacked Portuguese trainer Sérgio Traguil, just two months after taking over from Japanese Kenichi Yatsuhashi, following the team’s poor run in the League.
Traguil was given his sack letter on Tuesday at the Club’s secretariat in Accra.
The Portuguese tactician only took five points from his last seven games, including defeats from Wafa and Bechem, 3-0 and 3-1 respectively.
Assistant coach Yaw Preko now assumes the role of head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak for the rest of the season.
With three games to spare for the league to come to an end, and six points adrift from current league leaders Wa All Stars, Hearts of Oak face a tough task to maintain top four finish not to talk of winning the league.
The club’s board did no good to the club, their decision to sack Kenichi was a collateral damage and they have clearly shot themselves in the foot.
The former Ghanaian Champions could not maintain their consistency as they lie 4th on the League table with 42 points.
