Hearts of Oak have abandoned arrangements to double gate fees for their home matches at the Accra Sports Stadium following protests from the club’s loyal supporters.
Public Relations Officer Opare Addo on Tuesday confirmed reports that the club was going to implement new gates fees that were 100 % higher than what attendants used to pay to see games at the facility.
However, the Phobians’ fans reacted harshly to the decision, airing their views on social media and sending messages to the management.
Observers had warned that the increase in tickets could hamper the current surge in attendance, which Addo vehemently refuted.
The good tidings emerged on Wednesday when club officials confirmed that the decision had been dropped that supporters could get their tickets at usual prices.
Hearts have won two matches and drew one, and are now second on the table with seven points.
