In-form Ghana Premier League side Hearts of Oak have announced increase in prices of gate fees for their home matches in the ongoing season.
Previously the ticket prices were GHC 5, GHC 10, and GHC 15 and with the revised rate, it will now go for GHC 10, GHC 15, GHC 20 and GHC 25.
The Phobians have seen massive following due to their current performance in the ongoing campaign and the club’s board in a swift decision announced increments in the prices of tickets for the club’s home games.
But some section of the club’s fans have questioned the motive behind the increased of the gate fees.
But the club’s Public Relation Officer Kwame Opare Addo has vehemently defended the club’s decision to increase the gate fees.
“If clubs like Techiman City are able to charge GHC10 at the popular stand and still have fans trooping to watch their matches, why not Hearts?,” Opare questioned.
“When we went to Cape Coast, most of the fans there were Hearts fans and the same thing applies to the numbers at Tarkwa. So the fans will come no matter what,” Opare said on Asempa FM.
The new rate will take effect when Hearts of Oak host Behcem United at the Accra Sports Stadium this Sunday.
