Guangzhou Evergrande staged a late comeback to defeat Club America 2-1 and book a semi-final clash with Barcelona at the Club World Cup in Japan.
Oribe Peralta gave the Mexicans the lead in the 55th minute, but Zheng Longequalised in the 80th minute and Paulinho headed in the winner in the final minute of added time in Osaka.
The Asian champions now head to Yokohama for a glamour fixture against Barcelona on Thursday.
The hosts will also be represented in the last four after Sanfrecce Hiroshima defeated Congolese side TP Mazembe 3-0.
Tsukasa Shiotani gave Sanfrecce the lead a minute before half-time. Kazuhiko Chiba headed in a corner in the 56th minute and Takuma Asano added the third 12 minutes from time.
Sanfrecce’s reward is a meeting with South American giants River Plate on Wednesday.
