There will be a new face in the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes dugout on Saturday when Leganes come to town as Granada have fired Paco Jemez.
Appointed in the summer after much interest in the ex-Rayo Vallecano supremo, the 46-year-old has been awarded just six games patience and now departs with the club 19th in LaLiga.
Lluis Planaguma, the club’s B-team coach, takes over on an interim basis, confirmed in an official club statement.
“Granada CF has decided to terminate the contract of Paco Jémez as manager of the first team. Having undertaken a detailed study of the current situation and results achieved, the club has taken this decision unanimously,” it read.
“Paco Jémez will hold his final training session as manager today, which will be followed by a press conference before the media at 14:45 CET.”
Achieving draws against Villarreal and Real Betis, Jemez couldn’t guide the Nazaries to a victory in his short spell, which included defeats to Alaves and a 5-1 thrashing at Las Palmas.
