Due to Ashantigold’s involvement in the Caf Champions League, their match against rivals Asante kotoko in matchday two was postponed.
The match has now be scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Baba Yara Stadium and the kick-off time is 3pm.
Asante Kotoko will lock horns with regional rivals Ashanti Gold SC as they seek for their first win of the season in the Ghana Premier League.
The dethroned champions lost 1-0 and drew 2-2 against Wafa and Medeama respectively, while Ashgold have been able to take four points from their first two games which were all played at home at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
The season hasn’t started well for the Porcupines as we anticipated, with injuries contributing to their slow start but hopefully things will change in Kumasi on Wednesday.
Kotoko have been boosted by the return from injury of some first team players, but Ashgold also rested some of their key players on Sunday, meaning that the match is likely to produce thrilling moments as both teams will be firing all cylinders to get the maximum points.
Kotoko and Ashanti Gold have played a total of 29 games, with the Porcupines winning 14 times, drawing five times and losing ten to Ashgold.
