Ghana Premier League matchday five match between Techiman City and Dreams FC was labelled ‘the game of the new boys’.
Techiman City defeated Dreams fc by one goal to nil at the Nana Ameyaw Park on Sunday, thanks to Baba Mahama lone goal in the 29th minute.
Until today’s game, Dreams had enjoyed an unbeaten streak and were hoping to maintain that run. But fellow debutants proved very strong for them as they took home three points.
Dreams started the day with an attacking mentality, piling pressure on the home side but Yussif Abubakar’s boys were well composed and started dominating and winning all the midfield battles.
A super swift movement between Issaka Ibrahim and Baba Mahama provided an opening for the latter to poke home the first and only goal of the afternoon.
The pendulum however swung in favour of Dreams FC, who drew level through skipper Bashiru Abdul, but referee ruled that out.
Dreams continued to pile pressure on Techiman City but unfortunately, they lacked the cutting edge to draw parity before recess.
In the second half Dreams continued their dominance as they dictated proceedings, but again failed to produce any goal in the second half.
