Techiman City were held to a pulsating 1-1 draw game by defending league champions Ashanti Gold in the Ghana Premier League.
The Premier League debutantes hosted the Obuasi based side on match day 14 of the ongoing campaign on Wednesday with hope of winning the league game but left the Nana Ameyaw Park with only a point.
Techiman City conceded the first goal in the 5th minute courtesy former New Edubiase star man Nuhu Fuseini after he connected home Safiu Mumuni’s tailor measured cross.
The home team failed to get the equalizer in the first half.
However, in the second half, they pinned the Miners at their own half and despite the away side’s strong defence, Ebenezer Agyapong managed to ghost past Ashanti Gold’s back four to grab the needed equalizer for the home side.
Techiman City in their next league game on Sunday will play as guests to Asante Kotoko while Ashanti Gold host WAFA.
