Wa All Stars’ impressive performance in the ongoing Ghana premier league continues as they have extended their lead at the top with a 1-0 home win over Dwarfs on Sunday on match day seven.
With the win, Wa All Stars have opened a three point lead at the top after second placed team Hearts of Oak drew goalless at Techiman City.
The current leaders last week stunned the Phobians 1-3 in Accra while Dwarfs also thrashed Inter Allies with the same scoreline.
A game which was keenly contested in the first half saw a Dwarfs side that looked resolute at the back as Wa All Stars danger man Richard Arthur was heavily policed in the game.
With Dwarfs being defensive minded, the home side dominated play and threw a lot of bodies up front but, the away side foiled all their dangerous moves as the first half ended scoreless.
All Stars in the second half pinned the Cape Coast club based at their own half and in the 60th minute midfielder Kofi Yeboah registered his second goal of the season with a stunning strike from 30 yards.
The Wa based club then held on to their solitary lead to pick the three points at stake.
