Haven suffered two successive league defeats in the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League, Inter Allies returned to winning ways with a 4-0 win over Bechem United.
The Eleven Is To One hosted the Bechem-based club on match-day 7 and took advantage of the home support to exorcise the ghost that haunted them in the last two games against Hearts of Oak and Ebusua Dwarfs respectively.
Herbert Addo made five changes to his side that started in the game against Ebusua Dwarfs. Osei Kwame who has been out since the beginning of the season in place of Baba Kwame, Abass Mohammed, Hudu Abdulai and Isaac Twum all started.
Isaac Twum opened the scoring on the 35th minute after Patrick Cole and Yaw Ackah failed to control a difficult ball from Gockel Ahotor, before Prince Baffour, Gockel Ahotor and Ropapa Mensah completed the riot in the second half.
Inter Allies started the game on the front foot, and dictated proceedings, but they were let down by Ropapa Mensah’s lackluster performance up front.
Herbert Addo adopted a shoot from afar approach and that almost gave them the advantage. Abass Mohammed drove in a ferocious shot from about 30 yards, Ernest Adi was completely beaten, but the woodwork denied him the opener.
Ernest Adi tipped over a point-blank header from Ropapa Mensah to keep the game level about five minutes later. But on the 35th minute, he was helpless when Isaac Twum took advantage of mis-communication between Patrick Cole and Yaw Ackah, giving Inter Allies the lead.
But the first half ended with Osei Kwame, who returned to the post in place of Baba Kwame walking to the dressing room without catching a ball from open play.
Bechem United started the second half better, but they were undone by a controversial decision from centre referee, Prince Amoah. Akwesi Acheampong cleanly won the ball at the feet of Ropapa Mensah, but the referee pointed to the spot.
Prince Baffour stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to cushion the lead after 54 minutes.
Seven minutes, Gockel Ahotor made it 3 after goalkeeper Ernest Adi parried Abdulai Hudu’s shot.
Bechem United lost their fighting spirit from there on, and Inter Allies held on to end their pointless run after two games, pushing them to the 8th position on the league log.
