Berekum Chelsea maintained their unbeaten home run as the defeated Medeama 1-0 in their match day five outstanding league game at the Golden City Park on Wednesday.
This win means that the Blues have now gone 41 games unbeaten at home, a record they have held unto for more than three years.
The game was postpones some weeks back due the Medeama’s CAF Confederation Cup match against Al Ittihad of Libya.
Berekum Chelsea scored in the early minutes, 7 minute into the game through Nicholas Opoku as the host dominated most part of the first half.
The visitors came back strongly into the second half, dominated play, kept the pace of the game, but failed to produce any goal.
With this win, Berekum Chelsea will now move to 3rd position on the league table with 10 points after 5 league games, three less than current league leaders Hearts of Oak.
It seems current internal issues between the leadership of Medeama and coach Tom Strand had a negative impact on the team.
The Swede absented himself from training, after their FA Cup elimination by Liberty and was prevented from joining the team to Berekum, so the defeat was seen coming.
