GPL Match Report: Aduana 1-0 Kotoko – Porcupines woes continue

Aduana Stars piped Kumasi Asante Kotoko by a goal to nil at the Nana Agyeman Badu II Park, Dormaa on Sunday in a league tie

The Porcupine Warriors over the years have failed to score even a goal at Dormaa against Aduana Stars, let alone securing a win and the same old story continued when Kotoko lost 0-1 in the end.

The game in the first half didn’t produce much action, as both sides drew blank, however, Aduana Stars came into the game strongly in the second half and scored the all-important goal.

Francis Adjei’s shot was saved by goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi, but Yahaya Mohammed, a former Kotoko player scored from the rebound to register his first goal of the season for his new employers, Aduana Stars in the 55 minutes.

Kotoko in first half had to make a force substitution when Ernest Sowah was replaced by Ofori Antwi, after he collided with Yahaya Mohammed and couldn’t return to the field.

Bennett Ofori was the brightest spot on the field for Asante Kotoko, but he squandered the best chance that came the way of the Porcupine Warriors.

This is how the stats stand after game:

Aduana Stars have an invincible record on match day 6 since making their premier league debut in the 2009-10, having won 6 and drawn 1 in 7 games, whereas just last season Kotoko lost on match day 6 against Hearts of Oak and once again they have suffered another defeat.

In 13 league games between them Aduana Stars have won 5, lost 4 and drawn 4

At Dormaa, Aduana Stars are still unbeaten against Kotoko (W5,2)

Again Kotoko failed to get a goal against Aduana Stars in all their 7 visits as they lost 0-1
