Former Black Stars defender Sam Johnson insists that the Ghana Football Association should not impose anything on the new Black Stars coach Avram Grant.
The coach who is yet to name his squad for the 2015 AFCON, is said to have chosen Spain as his camping base for the Black Stars, whereas the FA had already made arrangements for camping in Saudi Arabia.
But this according to the ex-footballer should not be allowed to happen if indeed it’s true.
“If what I am hearing is true, then I believe that we should not allow it to move on as a nation. My sources say the coach wants to camp in Spain, and the FA is said to have made arraignments for Saudi Arabia.”
“If that is true then I will appeal to the FA to abandon its Saudi Arabia plan and go along with whatever the coach decides on, because at the end of the day, he knows what he is trying to achieve and what he will use that Spain camping for”, Sam Johnson told sportscrusader.com.
“Let’s not forget that he is the coach and he has the sole prerogative to decide where he thinks is better for the team to train at a particular time.”
“For once let’s commit everything about the Black Stars into the hands of the new coach and his technical staff so that when there are victories or defeats, we all know where to channel our emotions.”
