Ghanaian midfielder rejects move to Chinese league

Ghana international midfielder Michael Essien has rejected offers to join Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan in China.

A number of Chinese clubs have expressed interest in signing Essien but according to Gazzetta.gr, Essien has no interest in a move to the Asian country.

Essien, 33, who joined Panathinaikos last Summer, was an unused substitute as his side beat Gianina 3-0 on Sunday evening.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid midfielder’s home was burgled by robbers last week and has cast a frustrated figure since then.
