Ghana must go and Win AFCON 2017

    By Kofi Ampon Gyasi

The Black Stars of Ghana has been drawn in Group D alongside Mali, Uganda, and Egypt for the qualifiers of the AFCON 2017 that will be Staged in Gabon. This is a test the team has no option than to pass and go on to win it. the team was almost  close in the last Edition that was held in Equitorial Guinea when again the hearts of Ghanaians were broken. A nightmare we have had for decades now after the last time the team lost at the finals in Libya   1982 and in Equitorial Guinea last year.

Since then, winning the Nations Cup has been a myth and a dream we are still relishing to make it a reality. the likes of Mali our West African rival is going to be a huge hurdle for us to cross despite beating them in the last Edition.  Egypt on the other hand will be a very tricky tie. As Ghana has always suffered playing against Nations from the Northern part of our continent especially in the away fixture. but again we broke that jeans after beating Algeria last year in Equitorial Guinea. But That might have been different as it was on neutral grounds.

The Egypt of Hassan shihata is nomore the team   we use to know. And ever since the Egyptian tactician  left the pharaohs as the head Coach, the North African team have never been the same, to the extend of failing to qualify for subsequent AFCON tournaments.

The Black stars will also face world cup qualifiers opponent the cranes of Uganda in the same group. the cranes whom the black stars drew with just weeks ago will also make a statement in this AFCON  qualifiers. looking at these teams it is of no doubt that the black stars have no excuse than to qualify and clinch a 5th AFCON title in Gabon next year. history and recent form are all adavantages to  the stars. Ghana must just go and do the job. Avram Grant must make things happen  as he doesn’t have much time. Ghanaians are football lovers and want to see the team in Gabon lifting the ultimate.
