Ghana Football Association was unable to secure a visa for former Hearts of Oak coach Shaibu Tanko to travel to Equatorial Guinea.
Tanko was one of the three scouts required by Ghana Head coach Avram Grant to provide intelligence on Ghana’s three opponents in the Group phase of the 2015 African Nations Cup.
Footy-ghana.com can also confirm that Tanko was detailed to provide intelligence reports on Senegal, but the Protocol department of the GFA failed to make travelling arrangements for him and the other two scouts.
Footy-ghana.com also understands that the other two scouts; both ex-internationals, will travel to Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday night to monitor South Africa and Algeria.
Our sources reveal that Grant and deputy coach Maxwell Konadu are very unhappy about the development, because both men saw Tanko as a key ingredient in achieving success during the tournament.
