The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is calling on corporate bodies and individuals to offer their support for the development of women’s football in the country.
The national women’s league will return this weekend after almost five months hiatus, and the FA used the launch of this year’s women’s league to call for support to grow the league.
“It is difficult securing sponsorship for women’s football because it is relatively new compared to men’s football, and so I am urging all and sundry to assist in helping us to secure sponsorship,” GFA president, Kwesi Nyantakyi said.
Nyantakyi also used the opportunity to ensure Ghanaians their unrelenting support to ensure the game reaches its peak.
“The management of the GFA is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that we work towards in securing a sponsor for women’s football.
“In the absence of a sponsor, what we have done over the years is to support the Clubs and we will continue to provide the support to th clubs,” he stated.
