GFA ExCo Election: Opoku Nti, Afriyie, 4 others elected

Kudjoe Fianoo, the Chief Executive of Ashant Gold, despite guiding his side to win their first league title in 19 years was snubbed by delegates during the election of 6 people onto the Executive Committee of the Ghana FA on Tuesday on the ticket of the premier league.

George Afriyie, Delali Senaye and Albert Commey, who went on the ticket of Liberty Professionals, Inter Allies and Aduana Stars, respectively all pulled 11 votes out of the possible 16 votes.

Whereas Opoku Nti, Frank Nelson  and Nanabenyin Eyison, who went on the ticket of Asante Kotoko, Accra Hearts of Oak and Sekondi Hasaacas, respectively secured 9 votes apiece.

5 candidates failed to get the nod onto the Executive Committee. They are Kingsley Osei Bonsu of Bechem United and Fredirick Acheampong of New Edubiase, who pulled 7 and 6 votes respectively, while Kudjoe Fianoo had 5 votes, with Emmanuel Larbi Amoah of Medeama and Kofi Manu of B.A United getting 4 votes apiece.

All the16 premier league clubs had a delegate and that delegated could vote for a maximum 6 candidates, hence the highest vote a candidate could earn is 16 votes.
