GFA congratulates president elect of Ghana, Akuffo-Addo

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) took to twitter to congratulate Ghana’s next President Nana Addo-Danquah Akuffo Addo.

Akuffo Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) won after two failed attempts. He beat incumbent president John Mahama who was fighting for a second term to win the 2016 presidential election of Ghana.

The 72-year-old flagbearer polled 5, 716,026, as against 4, 713,277 by John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), representing 53.85% and 44.40% respectively.

Third was Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), attaining a total votes of 105,682. Then followed by Ivor Greenstreet of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), with 25,395. Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings of the NDP polled 16,878, while Dr Edward Mahama of PNC and the Independent candidate Joseph Osei Yeboah polled 22,214 and 15,889 respectively.
