Ivory Coast have been dealt a massive blow as they look to defend their Africa Cup of Nations title with news that Gervinho will miss the tournament.
The 29-year-old, who played a key part as the Elephants won the 2015 edition, reportedly ruptured knee ligaments while training with his Chinese club Hebei Fortune.
France Football reports that Gervinho has flown to Paris to undergo further medical examination, but an injury like this usually takes between 4-6 months to heal.
That will certainly rule him out of the 2017 Nations Cup, which takes place in Gabon from January 14.
