Ex-Hearts of Oak Managing Director Gerald Ankrah has stated that the performance of Kenichi Yatsuhashi has vindicated him.
Gerald Ankrah who resigned from his post at the club prior to the start of the 2016 Ghana Premier League said the appointment of the Japanese-American trainer was met with huge rejection by some section of the club’s fans but now he is decision is yielding positive results.
“I thank God that once and for all people have seen the benefit of the coach. I will not want to take the blame alone but I think it was all God’s way of working.
“In every situation we have people who are visionaries and people who don’t really understand the vision but I am praying that Coach Kenichi will succeed and the supporters will see the benefits of his appointment whiles together we restore the Hearts of Oak glory,” Ankrah told Kasapa FM.
He continued: “Well I took it as a normal thing, let me be honest that majority of our people or most of our people did not really understand but there was a lot of thoughts that went into the choosing of Kenichi. And it was done by a committee of which I was a member but in taking this decision it was purely the Managing Director versus the rest of Hearts of Oak.”
Hearts of Oak supporters are now heaping praises on Kenichi Yatsuhashi due the current performance of the team as the Phobians now sit at the top of the league table with 10 points in four games.
The Phobians next premier league game is away to Inter Allies at the Tema Sports Stadium.
